25 Years of Campus Classics
This year, we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary of providing the Greek community with quality merchandise! Several factors are responsible for our longevity, and this milestone is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the institution we’ve created here at Campus Classics. First and foremost, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the loyalty of our customers, whose needs we value and relationships we appreciate. Greek life is all about individuals working together to create something special, and we want to recognize how much the members of our community have contributed to our growth and success.
Long-lasting organizations go the distance when they’re capable of both remaining steadfast in their missions and evolving with the times. In many ways, our history echoes those of fraternities and sororities themselves. Greek letter organizations have indeed been in existence since the United States itself was founded; the first fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa, was established on December 5th, 1776. The first fraternity was not wholly unlike those we’re familiar with today; Phi Beta Kappa had a motto, ritual, badge, set of guiding principles, fraternal bond, and ambition to expand from campus to campus. Throughout its long history, the Greek system has thrived by maintaining its traditions while simultaneously evolving in the face of the obstacles and changes that inevitably disrupt any seasoned institution. Clearly, taxation and freedom are no longer the topics of discussion in fraternity and sorority houses, but Greek life endures. Fraternities have withstood two world wars, the Great Depression, the sociopolitical upheaval of the 1960's, and the challenges of today by progressing in ways that still coincide with their roots. Today, Greek members graduate at high rates and demonstrate loyalty to their alma maters, indications that fraternity life continues to flourish decades after it began.
Fraternities and sororities value their history, and so does Campus Classics. Since our founding in 1989, a few things have changed as we have advanced from a mail-order business to an online operation, but our dedication to delivering quality merchandise and service hasn’t diminished. We’re proud of the expansions we’ve made to our offerings, including in-house embroidery, screen-printing, laser engraving, a deep inventory, sorority merchandise, and fast shipments. While these improvements have brought about changes in our operations, our mission hasn’t deviated.
25 years later, Campus Classics continues on as the same dynamic, passionate, family-owned company that was established in 1989…only better. Thank you for accompanying us on this journey. We look forward to what the next 25 years will bring.
