The Perfect Summer Destinations

We know you are counting down the days until you get to be reunited with your sister back on campus, but why wait until fall to see your girls? It's time to fire up the sister group text and start planning your next vacation because we've compiled a list of some of our girls trip picks for summer 2022. 

Boulder, Colorado - For all our outdoorsy sisters, Boulder is the perfect destination for your summer reunion. It is located just a few hours drive from the Denver International Airport, making it an ideal destination for sisters all spread throughout the country since it is centrally located. The hiking crew will be able to access more than 150 trails open to the public that are FREE! It makes for a perfect destination to unplug and spend some quality time with your sisters before the fall semester starts back up.

  • Places to stay: 
    • Embassy Suites Boulder - this hotel has a touch of local flair since it is decorated with local artist’s pieces. 
    • Hotel Boulderado - It has existed for around 100 years and is located in the heart of boulder. 
    • Boulder Adventure Lodge:  Located on seven acres of mountain terrain it is right in the middle of most of the city's outdoor activities. 
    • Basecamp Boulder - a great location for the group who wants to be close to the outdoors but also close to town. 
  • Things to do: 
    • Get a Facial at Alchemy Face Bar -  Throw in a little bit of self care into your wilderness getaway. The perfect place for a quick little pampering with your sisters after a day of hiking! 
    • Checkout the shopping at Pearl Street Mall
    • Take a tea tour at Celestial Seasoning - The tea brand comes from Boulder! So if you are looking for another break from the outdoors, check out Celestial’s headquarters. 
    • Eldorado Canyon State Park: This natural treasure is the paradise for any outdoor lover and has something for everyone in the group!
    • Fiske Planetarium - The perfect place to stargaze with your sisters and take in a different variety of their exhibits. 

Charleston, South Carolina - No destination screams “girls trip” more than Charleston with it's vibrant historic homes just waiting for you to post on Instagram! This quaint destination can provide you the Instagram aesthetic you are looking for but also let you dive into culture. 

  • Places to stay: 
    • The Beach Club - A stunning waterfront resort located in Mt. Pleasant  just across the bridge from downtown Charleston. 
    • The Vendue - This stunning hotel blends old world elegance with southern charm. Located in the French Quarter, it surely won’t disappoint with the marble hallways and breathtaking chandeliers. 
    • Zero George Street - a boutique hotel that gives you a glimpse of the genteel history and contemporary charm the city has to offer. 
  • Things to do: 
    • Take in the culture at Gibbes Museum of Art 
    • Take a stroll through the Unitarian Church Cemetery
    • Set off on a sailboat ride with Schooner Pride, you can opt for a dolphin or sunset sail, neither will disappoint. 
    • Checkout the national historic landmark, Middleton Place! With the oldest landscaped garden in America, museums, educational tours, restaurant, and a working stable yard there is something for everyone. 

Tulum, Mexico - Tulum is perfect for a small or large group making it a great option for a sister reunion. Tulum makes for the perfect location because it will cater to the sisters who prefer to do yoga, eating healthy, and laying by the beach, but can also cater to the sisters who like to indulge in all the foodie experiences and spend their evenings dancing. 

  • Places to stay: 
    • Be Tulum - this is for the group wanting to treat themselves. A luxurious hotel nestled in the most happening strip or town. 
    • Papaya Playa Project - The beach hotel is known for its dancing and would be ideal for the most social of sisters!
    • The Tulum Treehouse - Steps away from the beach this location offers the perfect place for a group. 
  • Things to do: 
    • Yaan Wellness Spa - the best place for you all to recharge before heading back stateside
    • Don’t forget to checkout the Mayan Ruins while in Tulum

Brooklyn, New York - This is for all my hipster sisters who want to experience New York but don’t want to pay the Manhattan price tag. Consider meeting the girls a short walk over the bridge in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn. There will be something for everyone in the group; farmers markets, flea markets, and all the pizza your heart could desire. This location we are sure will give you countless opportunities to try out your street style and snap insta worthy photos at every corner. 

  • Places to stay: 
    • Box House Hotel - gives you the authentic Brooklyn experience
    • Hotel RL Brooklyn - a modern minimalist boutique hotel created with relaxation in mind.
    • 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge - Located on the waterfront of the Brooklyn Bridge Park, offering you views of the New York City Skyline 
  • Things to do: 
    • Snap a few insta worthy photos on the Brooklyn Bridge and then checkout all the iconic sites the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade has to offer. 
    • Take in the beautiful Brooklyn Botanic Garden
    • Checkout Williamsburg if you want something a little more trendy or head over to Park Slope for a more chill neighborhood.
    • Tom’s Coney Island is a must while in Brooklyn

Sedona, Arizona - This destination gives you adventure and pamper all in one place. This is perfect for the group who has a mix of interests. You can hop on a trail in the morning and get a massage by dinner. Of course Red Rocks is at the top of the list for any girls trip because it gives everyone a little bit of what they love! 

  • Places to stay: 
    • Sedona Real Inn & Suites - all about relaxation, adventure and all that is in between. 
  • Things to do: 
    • Consider signing up for the  Pink Jeep Tours, I mean honestly what could be more fun than taking in Famous Red Rock from the seat of the Pink Jeep? 
    • Shop at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village 
    • Hike;  Broken Arrow, Cathedral Rock, Devil’s Bridge, or Centennial trail. 

San Juan, Puerto Rico: Do you and the girls want to spend your nights salsa dancing until your feet hurt? Then Puerto Rico is calling your name! This destination offers a walkable downtown, rich foodie experience, and amazing culture. What more could you want from reunion with your sisters? 

  • Places to stay:
    • Ocean Park - right in the middle between the airport and all that San Juan has to offer. This makes for the best centrally located place to stay.
  • Things to do: 
    •  Snorkeling day cruise out to the islands of Cayo Icaco or Culebra. 
    • Explore Old San Juan 
    • Make sure to hike at El Yunque a tropical rainforest just 40 minutes east of San Juan. 

Savannah, Georgia - The perfect destination if you are looking for a low key girls trip! Savannah has 22 iconic parks and squares throughout town and along river street. You will also be able to find numerous group activities for you and the girls. Savannah has charming architecture, simplicity of getting around, and an amazing southern food scene, making it ideal for a girls trip especially if you all only have a quick weekend to getaway.

  • Places to stay: 
    • The Kimpton Brice - fun design a bit more modern 
    • Olde Harbour Inn - along river walk, a little more historical  
    • Andaz Savannah - centrally located 
  • Things to do: 
    • The Grey - once an old bus terminal now turned into an elegant restaurant.
    • Collins Quarter - the best brunch spot with your sisters
    • Trolley Tours
    • Ghost Tours - (one of the most haunted cities in America).

Oaxaca, Mexico -  This is for the girls who want to get away from the typical Mexico destination and aren’t scared to get off the beaten path. This destination isn’t as popular as Tulum or Cancun but is one of the safest places in Mexico to visit.

  • Places to stay:
    • Quinta real Oaxaca - A historic property built in the 16th century as a convent then later turned into a hotel in the 70’s. It is centrally located to all the city has to offer. 
    • Hotel Con Corazon - a more budget friendly option with a hotel that focuses on social impact. 
    • Hotel Escondido - the best place if you are wanting to be near the beach
  • Things to do: 
    • Explore the local markets; these markets are overflowing with a variety of goods from woven bags, leather sandals, hats, and everything in between. 
    • Take a fully guided tour of Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán; this is arguably one of the most famous sites in Oaxaca City. Formerly a monastery and breathtaking example of Baroque architecture. 
    • Gallery hopping: simply take in the expansive options of galleries around the main square. 
    • Discover the ancient Mitla Ruins 
    • Hiking through natural landscape and pools at Hierve el Agua.
